A Lairmont Manor wedding, Bellingham, WA

Wedding Gallery: Drew and Kolden's wedding in Bellingham, WA, at the gorgeous Lairmont Manor

Drew and Koldens' wedding at Lairmont Manor

January 8, 2023

An old-fashioned wedding at one of the United States' most amazing venues, Lairmont Manor. Drew and Kolden had their wedding during Washingtons' Rainy season but their day was anything but gloomy! Amazing lighting, a classy venue, and a loving family helped create such a special day.

Details

I had some time to get some detailed shots of the dress since Drew had not put it on yet. Along with the dress, I decided to also photograph the rings, venue, dining, and anything else that caught my interest.

Kolden getting ready

Kolden got ready with the help of his best man/brother and his Dad, who had flown from Minnesota to be there for his wedding day.

Drew getting ready

Meanwhile, Drew had been getting ready in the basement with the help of her Maid of Honor/Sister and Mother.

Immediately afterward, her father came down to the basement for their first look together. I will let the pictures tell the rest.

First look and Vows

We decided to do the first look outside with the Lairmont Manor as the backdrop. It was as private as we could find while still maintaining natural light. granted, there were people still peering through the windows from time to time. They also did private vows, where I put on a longer lens to give them more privacy.

Couple photos

I took some time alone with Drew and Kolden to capture just them together, before family

and wedding party photos. The sun sets a lot earlier in January, we would have less time outside with ideal lighting than in summer weddings.

I did take them inside for two photos in front of a painting on the wall. These turned out to be some of my favorites of the day. The combination of black and white edit, the painting, and the Manor creates a timeless and old-fashioned aesthetic.

Ceremony

The rest of the day would take place inside, including the ceremony. With no room to walk on the sides, I stayed farther back with my 85mm, while also going to the balcony view.

Following the ceremony, Drew and Kolden as well as their witness' went into a private room to sign their marriage license. the room was overflowing with joy and love as the couple makes their marriage official.

FirstDance

The venue had to change the main floor from Ceremony to Dinner. Once set, the couple made their entrance and had their first dance as a married couple!

Speeches

the Maid of Honor, Best Man, Grandparents, and Parents all proceeded to give amazing speeches. Following the speeches, we had the Mother son/Father Daughter dance.

Drew and her Mother used to dance in the kitchen when they were kids and had planned to surprise her Mom with a dance following the father/daughter dance.

Best man photos

As the dance began, I had to use the bathroom. Not wanting to miss out on any photos, I entrusted the best man with the camera. The photos turned out so good I want to try this out at every wedding.

Dance and send-off

Thanks for making it to the end! :)
